Comprehensive Heart Program
When moments matter, trust the experience and technology of our heart experts. The Comprehensive Heart Program and our Emergency Department are accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, which evaluates hospitals on their ability to assess, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. Our cardiac response rate averages 30 minutes faster than the national best practice benchmark. Our Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab teams have been recognized by the American Heart Association with “Get With the Guidelines” awards as top performers in patient care.
HeartScore is a 10-minute CT scan of your heart that uses no needles and no fasting; you don't even have to run on a treadmill.
Other heart and vascular programs at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto include aneurysm repair, angioplasty stenting, cardiopulmonary, carotid bypass, echo, and peripheral vascular.
Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program is dedicated to returning patients to the level of physical, mental, social and emotional functioning they enjoyed before cardiovascular disease.

A stereotactic biopsy unit allows physicians, through a minimally invasive procedure, to take breast tissue samples without surgery.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto is first in the system to be designated a Baby Friendly® hospital. This prestigious international award recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies.
The honor was bestowed by Baby-Friendly USA, Inc., the U.S. authority for the implementation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The criteria for the designation is based on Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and are designed to set the standards for the best possible breastfeeding support for mother and infant in the maternity setting, ensuring high-quality care in this critical area of mother/baby care.
The Baby-Friendly designation is for a period of five years. Each year, Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto will report statistics related to the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding to achieve re-designation.
